Dealing with mass, energy, space and time, Physics constitutes the basis of almost all branches of science. It is a prime mover of innovations and inventions. Physics-based knowledge makes the key to success in almost all branches of science and technology. There is a lot of applications of Physics in many non-technical areas, such as biology, physiology or medicine.

The Department of Physics, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno University of Technology, endeavours to implement these objectives. In these efforts, we prefer practice-oriented teaching process, logic-based study and modern way of thinking. Our main objective is to provide our students with knowledge and application skills the will use in their further study and practice, rather than to torment them.
